The American Latino Veterans Association (ALVA) is a registered 501c3 that exists to help American Latino veterans


Thrive after their military service, access the benefits they have earned, and enhance recognition of Latino contributions to our nation’s defense since before its inception.

A day when all Latino veterans are empowered, successful and respected

GROWING LATINO VETERAN POPULATION

  • There are nearly 1.5 million Latino veterans in the U.S. today
  • Latinos projected to represent a growing portion of the minority veteran population
  • From 32% in 2020 (1.48M) to 36% in 2045 (1.55M)
  • By 2045, Latinos will be 13% of the total veteran population

Goals (and measures of progress)

SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, RELEVANT, AND TIME-BOUND

SHORT TERM

Create and launch website with membership capability and content

Launch video series on Latino Veteran stories within three months of launch, then at least quarterly

Compile and offer at least three entrepreneurship resources within first six months of launch

Build a strong advisory board of at least six respected individuals within three months of launch

Build a base of 1,000 Latino Veteran members within the first year after launch

Compile and offer at least six workforce development and/or placement resources within first six months of launch

Compile and offer at least ten benefits resources within first six months of launch

LONG TERM

Longitudinal tracking of veteran job training and/or placement

Establish annual awards event

Double content

Longitudinal tracking of veteran business launch and growth

Grow to at least 3,000 Latino Veteran members

Establish national presence by partnering with other Latino and Veteran focused organizations
