Danny Vargas Among Washingtonian Magazine’s Most Influential People in D.C.

Herndon, VA – The American Latino Veterans Association (ALVA) is honored to share that its Founder/Chairman/CEO, Danny Vargas, was named to Washingtonian Magazine’s 2022 list of “Washington DC’s 500 Most Influential People” in the Civil Rights & Criminal Justice category. The list recognizes individuals “who are playing big roles in Washington’s policy debates”. The magazine highlights the fact that “Vargas orchestrated a multifaceted, bipartisan effort to pass and enact a law authorizing the creation of the Smithsonian’s new National Museum of the American Latino”.

“It is incredibly humbling to be included in this list of leaders who are devoted to advancing policies they believe in and care about deeply,” said Vargas. “I have spent the bulk of my adult life trying to make a positive impact and make a real difference in areas that matter most, and I am committed to continuing to do so.”

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Vargas is active in numerous community service efforts. He is the Chairman of the Virginia Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Chairman of Leadership Fairfax, Chairman Emeritus of the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino, former Chairman of the Virginia Board of Workforce Development and serves on various boards and commissions. He is also Founder/President of VARCom Solutions, a marketing, public relations, and strategic communications company.
