ALVA Celebrates Successful Inaugural Events and Giving Tuesday
Herndon, VA – The American Latino Veterans Association (ALVA) successfully held its inaugural events earlier this month in Washington, D.C. These included a series of panels and matchmaking focused on entrepreneurship and government contracting as part of its Business Expo as well as an evening reception for the first ever “ALVA Awards” to recognize notable honorees. The events were hosted by AT&T at its Forum for Technology, Entertainment & Policy. Phots from the events can be found here:
The Business Expo included the following panels with expert speakers:
- Elements to starting your business: Moderator: Justin Velez-Hagan (NPRCC); Panelists: Ruben Barrales (Wells Fargo), Marie Robles (ALVA), Libo Suen (SBA)
- Doing business with the Federal Government: Moderator: Jose Niño (El Nino Group); Panelists: Jean Ibañez (TI Verbatim), Jackie Krick (ECU Communications), Rhett Jeppson (JPMC)
- Business Development in Government Contracting: Moderator: Danny Vargas (ALVA); Panelists: Beverly Beavers (Procliv-IT), Eric Gonzales (Aptive Resources), Luis Ibarra (PingWind)
